WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 U.S. Newswire — Atlanta resident and former Los Angeles Head Start student Dr. Chanda Mobley, DrPH, MPH, was recognized by Head Start on November 30, 2005 as part of this landmark program's 40th anniversary celebration in the nation's capital. Today, Dr. Mobley serves as Director of Pediatric Asthma Programs for the American Lung Association's Southeast Region and a Head Start Program Reviewer in the area of health services. She also evaluates public health programs for the state of Georgia.
Dr. Mobley earned her Masters of Public Health degree in the area of Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and achieved her Doctor of Public Health degree in the area of Maternal and Child Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Entitled "Honoring the Past, Strengthening the Future," the celebration recognized Head Start's 40 years of achievement and dedication to children and families and the program's ongoing commitment to enhancing services to ensure maximum benefits for young children.
Dr. Mobley was honored alongside ten fellow Head Start parents and enrollees, who were chosen from more than 150 "success stories" submitted by Head Start centers nationwide. Each honoree represented one of the decades of Head Start's 40-year history. Dr. Mobley was selected to represent Head Start students from the 1970s, Head Start's second decade.
